Truck Carrying Pool Chemicals Crashes in Thousand Oaks [Los Angeles, CA]

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (June 2, 2024) — A truck carrying pool chemicals crashed on SR-23 in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, causing significant lane closures, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. near Janss Road. The single-vehicle crash involved a dark gray Toyota Tacoma, which sustained major front-end damage. Barrels of unknown chemicals were spilled across the roadway.
CHP reported that the driver of the truck also collided with two other vehicles, but there are no immediate reports of injuries. Initially, all traffic was halted, but lanes began to reopen gradually soon after.
CHP assures the public that there is no immediate danger but advises drivers to exercise caution when approaching the site of the Los Angeles chemical crash.
Still, those who have been exposed to the chemicals and suffered injuries as a result must seek medical help right away.
