Truck Crash on Fruitridge Road Leaves One Dead, Another Critically Injured
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 9, 2024) — A tragic incident early Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a man and critical injuries to a woman in the south Sacramento area.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the accident occurred when a white pickup truck collided with two pedestrians, one of whom was in a wheelchair, on Fruitridge Road between Ethel and Laurine ways.
The section of the road was closed following the accident, which was reported to authorities at around 4:07 a.m., with no immediate estimate on when it will reopen. The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female pedestrian was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police. The identities of the victims and the cause of the crash have not yet been disclosed.
