Two Dead in Fresno Dune Buggy Crash

FRESNO, CA (August 21, 2024) — A crash in Fresno County early Wednesday morning resulted in two fatalities. The incident occurred before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Belmont and Westlawn.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a dune buggy without lights was traveling on Westlawn when it collided with a semi-truck traveling east on Belmont. Westlawn has a stop sign, while Belmont does not.
Both men in the dune buggy were pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was reported to be not street-legal. The role of drugs or alcohol in the Fresno dune buggy crash has yet to be determined.
