UC Davis Resident Killed in Scooter Accident in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA (September 5, 2024) — Dr. Geohaira Sosa, a 32-year-old first-year psychiatry resident at UC Davis, tragically died after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Sacramento.
The accident happened near the intersection of Alhambra Boulevard and Folsom Boulevard on the morning of August 29. Dr. Sosa had recently moved from Queens, New York, to begin her residency.
