Victorville Teen Leads High-Speed Chase in Stolen Car
VICTORVILLE, CA (February 27, 2024) — A 15-year-old commandeered a high-speed pursuit in San Bernardino County during the weekend, driving a vehicle that was reported stolen.
The incident began around 1:20 p.m. when Deputy A. Puga identified the stolen 2016 Hyundai Accent and attempted to stop it, only for the young driver to accelerate away, weaving through residential areas.
The Victorville car chase concluded at the Pebble Beach Apartment complex, where the driver and two juvenile passengers attempted to flee on foot. However, their bid for freedom was short-lived as deputies swiftly apprehended them.
The teen driver now faces charges and awaits proceedings at Apple Valley Juvenile Hall, while the passengers were released to guardians.
