Violent Crash on 10 Freeway Leaves 1 Dead, 4 Children Critically Injured [Los Angeles, CA]

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 18, 2024) — Tragedy struck on Sunday afternoon as a violent crash unfolded on the I-10 Freeway in the University Park area, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries, including four children.

The crash on 10 Freeway occurred around 3 p.m. on the westbound lanes of the freeway near the Hoover Street ramps, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Details regarding the cause of the crash are still under investigation.

Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) firefighters worked tirelessly to extricate one trapped adult from the wreckage, as reported in a statement by the department. Sadly, one person, yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five individuals, including four boys aged 3 months, 6, 7, and 10, along with a 29-year-old woman, were rushed to the hospital in serious-to-critical condition. Paramedics also treated another individual at the scene, who fortunately did not require transportation to the hospital.

Aerial footage by news providers revealed the devastating aftermath, with a severely damaged pickup truck overturned and resting against a Tesla. Debris littered the area surrounding the vehicles. Traffic disruptions are expected in the area for an undisclosed duration.
