Vista Point Highway 74 Crash Claims Life
VISTA POINT, CA (March 1, 2024) — In a distressing incident on Highway 74 near Vista Point, a collision between a Subaru Crosstrek and a tow truck has resulted in the death of a San Diego man, Kenneth Macho, aged 75.
The Vista Point crash occurred Thursday afternoon around 12:35 p.m., casting a somber shadow over the area near milepost 88. California Highway Patrol reports indicate that the Subaru, carrying Macho and an elderly woman, veered across double solid lines for undetermined reasons, leading to a direct impact with an oncoming tow truck.
The woman accompanying Macho suffered moderate injuries, while the tow truck driver walked away with minor injuries. Both were promptly taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
