Woman Dies in Head-On Accident with School Bus in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA (September 28, 2024) — A woman was killed and two people were injured when an SUV collided head-on with a school bus in Lancaster on Friday morning, authorities said.
The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. in the 1700 block of Columbia Way, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The school bus, not carrying any students at the time, was traveling west on Avenue M when a Kia Sorento swerved into its lane for unknown reasons.
The female driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene. Two adults aboard the bus were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials reported. The cause of the Lancaster school bus accident is under investigation, and no further details have been released.
