Woman Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Maple Elementary
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 13, 2024) — A woman was critically injured and airlifted following a multi-vehicle collision near Maple Elementary School on Monday morning. It happened just before 7:00 AM at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Mauna Loa Street, involving a green GMC Yukon, a silver Toyota Camry, and a white Chevy Tahoe.
San Bernardino County firefighters responded quickly, finding the driver of the Camry trapped and in need of extrication. A medical helicopter transported the woman to an out-of-area trauma center.
Witnesses reported that she was in and out of consciousness during transport. She later underwent surgery for a broken hip and wrist and is expected to recover.
The crash near Maple Elementary is still under investigation.
