Young Child Injured in Pacific Beach Traffic Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 8, 2024) — A six-year-old boy was hospitalized with a fractured pelvis after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego’s Pacific Beach neighborhood on Saturday evening. The accident occurred on the 5000 block of Soledad Road as the child darted into the street.
San Diego Police report that the boy, who was near his mother as she unloaded their vehicle, ran towards his father across the street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle. The driver, a 75-year-old man, was traveling at a low speed at the time of the incident. Authorities have confirmed that the child’s injuries, while serious, are not life-threatening.
The SDPD Traffic Division is conducting an ongoing investigation into the Pacific Beach child injury. Officials have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor in the accident.
