An 86-year-old was killed following a head-on crash in the area of Butler Avenue southeast of Fresno County on Monday.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was driving east in a Nissan Versa when she suddenly drifted into the west lane and drove directly into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado.
The crash was unavoidable as the driver of the Chevrolet was unable to avoid the Nissan and collided straight into the vehicle.
The woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevrolet meanwhile is unharmed.
