LA QUINTA, CA — A serious crash in La Quinta, California left three people injured — one of them in critical condition — after a Sunline Transit Agency bus collided with a pickup truck.
The accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the busy intersection of Washington Street and Eisenhower Drive, resulting in road closures and causing traffic delays for over an hour.
According to preliminary reports, the bus driver and one passenger were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The pickup truck driver, however, sustained severe injuries and had to be airlifted for emergency treatment. Four other bus passengers were unharmed.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the collision or whether speed, distraction, or other factors were involved. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.
