MADERA, CA — Two people died Monday morning following a car accident in Madera, according to the Madera Police Department.
Officers were called around 5:57 a.m. to the intersection of Avenue 16 and Road 23. Upon arrival, they found a juvenile male outside his vehicle and two adults trapped inside another car.
Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and medical personnel, both adults died at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate the juvenile was unlicensed, was driving east on Avenue 16 with headlights off, and failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into the victims’ vehicle.
So far, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The names of those involved are being withheld pending family notification.
The Madera Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
