Fatal Crash Claims Life of Motorcyclist near Watsonville Airport
SANTA CRUZ, CA (March 15, 2024) — A tragic incident happened near Watsonville Municipal Airport as the California Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday night. The crash occurred on Buena Vista Road west of Bradford Road.
According to CHP, a 29-year-old Watsonville resident was traveling west on Buena Vista Road around 6:15 p.m. when, for reasons yet to be determined, he veered off the road and collided with a metal fence south of Buena Vista Road.
Despite wearing safety gear, the impact caused him to be ejected from his Harley-Davidson, and he struck a dirt embankment.
Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but sadly, the rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities are withholding his identity pending notification of next of kin.
