LAMONT, CA — A major traffic collision early Tuesday morning in Lamont left at least one person seriously injured and several others hospitalized. Authorities suspect the crash may have been caused by driving under the influence.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. on November 11, 2025, near the intersection of South Fairfax Road and Buena Vista Boulevard. The vehicles involved were a gray Ford Ranger pickup truck and a blue Toyota sedan.
Preliminary reports suggest the Toyota driver may have been intoxicated, and a passenger in that vehicle fled the scene in another car before officers arrived.
Two people were transported to a nearby hospital, one of them suffering major injuries. Among those involved was a pregnant woman, though it is unclear whether she was injured.
The CHP continues to investigate the exact cause of the possible DUI in Lamont as authorities determine who was responsible for the crash.
