
LOS ANGELES, CA – A pedestrian was killed and a driver hospitalized following a crash on the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning. The incident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near First Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian killed in Downtown LA, identified as 25-year-old Larry Lopez, was struck by a black Honda Civic and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the Honda, who remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, was taken to a hospital in fair condition. A passenger in the vehicle declined hospital transport, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Authorities believe Lopez may have been struck by multiple vehicles, though further details are not available. The incident is still under investigation.
