
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Three people died Tuesday night in Gilroy after a driver lost control of their vehicle and collided with another car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. on Shore Road, west of Lake Road, when the westbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound car.
The driver and two rear passengers, including a 17-year-old, were killed in the crash. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, along with the front passenger, were airlifted to a nearby hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The cause of the Gilroy car crash is still under investigation, with authorities yet to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role. CHP Captain Noel Coady extended condolences to those affected by the tragedy, emphasizing the importance of obeying traffic laws to prevent such devastating accidents.
