
LOS ANGELES, CA – Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early Saturday morning on the 110 Freeway in central Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a pedestrian lying in the southbound lanes, just north of First Street, around 6:30 a.m.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the victim was already on the freeway before any vehicles approached and was struck by a Honda Civic, along with possibly several other vehicles.
The identity of the pedestrian killed on the 110 Freeway is being withheld until next of kin are notified. The driver of the Honda Civic remained at the scene, and the incident is still under investigation.
