​​Single-Car Crash in Fresno County Claims One Life, Injures Another [Fresno, CA]

FRESNO, CA (February 28, 2024) — In a tragic turn of events early Tuesday morning in Fresno County, a single-car accident resulted in the death of one individual and left another hospitalized. 

The incident occurred before 5:30 am on Clarkson near Del Rey, in proximity to Kingsburg, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

A 19-year-old, driving a Chevy Malibu along Clarkson, lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and colliding with vines and a utility pole. The impact of the crash proved fatal for a 24-year-old passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP reports indicate that the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The driver, a 19-year-old, sustained injuries and was subsequently airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. As of now, CHP has not disclosed whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
