Tragic Pedestrian Fatality in Costa Mesa
COSTA MESA, CA (February 17, 2024) — Early this morning, Costa Mesa witnessed a heartbreaking incident when Dolores Pliego, aged 61, was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive.
Responding swiftly, the Costa Mesa Police Department, alongside Fire & Rescue teams, found Ms. Pliego with critical injuries. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead after being taken to a trauma center.
The pedestrian fatality in Costa Mesa, now under thorough investigation by the Major Accident Investigation Team, did not lead to any arrests, as speed was ruled out as a contributing factor and the driver cooperated with the authorities.
